Kangana Ranaut Reveals Consuming Hormone Pills To Gain Weight Around Thighs And Belly For Thalaivi

Taking the unconventional route and standing apart from the rest has always worked for Kangana Ranaut. Last weekend the actress just surprised everyone with her first look poster of her upcoming movie titled Thalaivi. Gearing up for the second biopic of her career after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, the actress took the internet by storm in an unrecognizable avatar . Set to play actor-turned-politician J Jayalalithaa, the actress attained the former CM of Tamil Nadu’s look with heavy prosthetics. 

While superb prosthetics work gave her the desired look on screen, the actress struggled to gain weight for this role. During her interaction with a leading tabloid Mid-Day, she revealed a secret that helped her gain 6 kilos. The actress revealed taking light dosage of hormone pills to put on weight on her thighs and around her belly. She said, “Vijay (producer) wanted me to resemble her as closely as possible. She [Jayalalithaa] endured a drastic physical transformation in her life. Having grown up as a Bharatanatyam dancer, she had an hour-glass figure. Then, when she joined politics, she had an accident which demanded that she be injected with huge doses of steroids. With addition to these hormonal pills, she also started consuming food items that shall help her gain weight. 

While the actress gained appreciation from her fans, few poked fun at her, replying to these trollers and haters, actress’ sister Rangoli Chandel, slammed them in her latest tweets and termed them as Samosa Gang. 




The movie is set to hit theatres on June 26, 2020.
